“I’m currently seeing Florida, a woman that I met at university many years ago. But she is moody and doesn’t like to talk to me,” says Edison, “That’s why I get my social interactions by going out with my neighbors, i.e., a married couple. Edison’s fixation on Florida is giving him tunnel vision, thereby preventing him from identifying new opportunities in his love life.
“If nobody is taking real action, it’s just all theoretical, as it doesn’t really matter how good it could be,” I say to Edison, “you have to be aware of what will expand your life because focusing on Florida contracts your life right now.”
Indeed, being hyper-focused on Florida is only misallocated energy. Therefore, I’ve asked Edison to change his approach. Obviously, it’s not easy when he has got a lot of love to give and he doesn’t know where to put it. However, Edison knows that he has got that spark as well as energy. Hence, he should take the misallocated energy and point it in a new direction, i.e., heading for new possibilities.
I understand that Edison’s situation is very common because at some stage in everyone’s life, that can happen. Thus, we need to know when our needs are not met & address that issue in a relationship. If the problem can’t be solved, it’s time to move on because life is short. Yes, the average person merely has about 30,000 days in their life. As a result, every day that you are alive is paramount. You deserve a satisfying relationship!

There are fantastic places within driving distance and most people never take advantage of these places. Therefore, tourists have all the fun and joy doing what you haven’t seen in your own vicinity. So, why not cultivate the tourist’s mindset at home and see what new opportunities this new mindset brings into your life. Maybe you’ll find your next favorite restaurant, make new friends, start a new hobby, get a new book, meet a new woman, fall in love, get married, have kids, ….
