  • How to design a fabulous lifestyle:

Switched-on men are aware of the fact that they can proactively design a happy lifestyle without letting things just happen to them. More specifically, alpha men go out and happen to things! Yes, you can design your own lifestyle and let’s deconstruct each area for you and give you the roadmap for happiness!

Oftentimes, gurus tell you that you should pay attention to your diet, exercise and sleep if you want to improve your health. That is absolutely right. Having said that, we would argue that your mindset and your pleasure / joy are also important, if not more important to your overall health and wellbeing.

Do you know what Tom Bilyeu and Matthew Hussey have in common? These successful entrepreneurs go to bed before 9pm every night. Modern science indicates that sleep is more important than diet and exercise due to its impressive healing effects.

You may try these strategies:

  1. A) Wear glasses that block blue light whenever you are using a laptop / desktop or a phone – This is so key, as you are constantly looking at a screen nowadays & blue light from every screen negatively affects the quality of your sleep.
  2. B) Use black plastic rubbish bags to cover your windows in the bedroom – You would be well-advised to block all light so that you can sleep well in a completely dark room. After covering all windows, if you can still see your fingers in front of you, that means you have failed. Please note that your skin can receive the light when you are asleep – when this happens, any light still negatively affects the quality of your sleep even when your eyes are closed! When you sleep in a completely dark bedroom for the first time, you might sleep for more than 9 hours, so it’s probably better to do that on a weekend when you can sleep in!

Dr. Christiane Northrup points out that people should avoid two things: grains and sugar. This is particularly necessary when fat and sugar are combined, e.g., chocolate and ice cream are unhealthy choices. The only food that you can eat as much as you like is vegetables.

A health-conscious guy should eat healthy food at least 80% of the time. In other words, if you eat chips from Hungry Jack’s this Friday night, please do not beat yourself up. Just have fun. You know you will be on the right track again very quickly!

Realistically, you don’t have to go to the gym every single day so as to get the exercise you need, because the best exercise is the exercise that you will actually stick to!

Truthfully, only the exercise that you genuinely enjoy is sustainable. As a result, if you love dancing, it’s perfectly okay for you to dance to the music in the kitchen every day. Do that for 30 minutes on a daily basis and then you will witness the difference. A study shows that doing some physical exercise in the morning could improve the quality of your sleep at night as well.

  • Mindset & joy:

Your mindset is the prerequisite of achieving long-term and sustainable happiness, so taking care of your mindset well is extremely paramount.

Every morning after doing your workout, you should spend some time working on your mindset before you do anything else. That could be reading a chapter of a book or watching an inspiring video online. It’s also okay to multi-task in the right ways, e.g., when you are commuting, you may listen to a self-help podcast. Make this a part of your morning routine, and your mindset will be looked after properly.

Joy is the most underrated aspect of a guy’s health and wellbeing. Sometimes joy is also known as pleasure, though many people assume that pleasure means sex only.

In truth, joy / pleasure is about enjoying life and doing what makes you truly happy. What gives you good feelings? Which activities bring you positive emotions? Do those activities as often as you can, for life is short and you are here only once. Even if you believe in afterlife, your current life only happens once!

Research shows that joy positively conditions an individual’s emotions, which is the most effective way to rewire your brain, particularly if you had some trauma in the past.

When you were a child, your limbic brain was open to everything and was absorbing all information around you. If traumatic events happened when you were young, your limbic brain would suffer. Limbic brain is responsible for memories, stimulation and emotions. Do not underestimate the power of emotions, as emotions are the world’s biggest motivator, according to these Eastern European ladies.

“This also explains why childhood trauma could dramatically affect an individual’s long-term health, happiness and wellbeing. If you were traumatised when you were a child, apart from consulting a psychologist, you might try this technique: do something joyful each day. Please make this a deliberate practice in your daily life. For example, when you get up at 7:30am, you can do a joyful activity first. Perhaps you like singing – you may sing a song in front of the mirror with some karaoke music in the background. Or maybe you like fashion – you should totally prepare the best outfit which makes you feel like a million dollars before having a shower!”
